TimestripPlus accuracy validated at 8 deg C

New TimestripPlus 8 Deg C has been independently validated, proving it's accuracy in both temperature and time.

TimestripPlus is the only device that can effectively record a breach in the cold chain and indicate accurately the length of time that the breach occurred.

Simply activate the device at room temperature and attach to your chilled pharmaceutical. Whilst the drug is kept below +8 deg C, the indicator window will not change.

When the drug has been dispensed and left the refrigerated environment, as soon as its temperature rises above 8 deg C, a colour will move along the indicator window showing the length of time that the breach has occurred. This has been proved to be accumulative, even when product has been returned to a chilled environment several times.

This could be immensely useful for expensive cytotoxic drugs that cannot be administered and could be returned to a refrigerated environment for re-issue.

Have you been assessed yet?

The HSE are carrying out an inspection campaign to assess the health and safety management of the prevention of sharps injuries.

Recommendations and best practice are that there should be no recapping of needles, suitable PPE should be worn and needles and sharps are disposed of safely as contaminated waste.

Our double wrapped and sterilised sharps bins have needle and vacutainer removers on the lids for the safe removal, disposal and transportation of sharps waste without the need for hand contact. These are available in sizes 0.6 litre - 5 litre with purple lidded and labelled bins available for cytotoxic identification.

Our disposable apparel is available both non-sterile, or individually sterile wrapped for aseptic areas. We have a wide range of gloves for specialist applications including our Berner latex and neoprene gloves for handling or administering cytotoxics.

Using our Pharmavent Fine Spike Vent device minimises the incidence of needle stick injury. the slim spike will easily penetrate the rubber bung on bottles and bags, but reduces the risk of penetrating the skin of the user accidentally. PharmaVent Fine Spike Vent can be used for multi dosing applications reducing the need for the reinsertion of a spike or needle each time a withdrawal from a vial or bag is made.

New TimestripPlus - 8 deg C at a glance

New TimestripPlus +8 deg C temperature indicators can show at a glance whether your vaccine or medication has breached the recommended level of between +2 deg C and +8 deg C and for how long.

To remain potent, medications and vaccines need to be stored within the temperature range recommended by the manufacturers and TimestripPlus offers an extremely convenient and cost effective solution for managaing cold chain items.

TimestripPlus indicators are easy to use, simply activate at room temperature and apply the disposable indicator to your temperature sensitive item using the adhesive backing. Store the item below the 8 deg C threshold and the indicator will remain inactive. However, as soon as the temperature of the item rises above 8 deg C, the indicator will not only record the breach, but for how long it occurred.

New TimestripPlus 8 deg C

Perfect for vaccines

Be confident that vaccines have been stored between +2 deg C and + 8 deg C with new TimestripPlus temperature indicators.

To remain potent, vaccines must be stored within the temperature range recommended by the manufacturers.

A two year audit revealed that out of 96 GP practices, 40% of vaccines were stored outside the recommended temperature range and a number of medications had to be destroyed. (ref: NPSA/2010/RRR008)

By applying a new timestripPlus temperature indicator to each box of vaccines, you can be confident that any breach in the cold chain is recorded, aiding patient safety.

In addition, any unused vaccine returned to the GP surgery or pharmacy can be reallocated, reducing waste and saving precious budget spend.
